About This Print
From the Birds of America Collection. Depicted: A common crow on a beautiful branch of a walnut tree loaded with nuts and the delicate nest of a hummingbird, painted in 1829.

In his writings Audubon lamented the farmers disdain for crows, despite it's helpful nature attacking quadrupeds. He noted the crow "found familiarity with man no way to his advantage", seemingly admiring the intelligence of the animal.
